K20a or H22a type S
what do guys think would be a better swap A K20a or the H22a type S both are rated at 220hp both have LSD tranny the K20a is $5600 the H22a is $3800....this would be going into a 97 civic hatch. I could get 4500 for my motor now and I got 2300 saved up
woah buddy, we will have no talk like that on this board!!!! ha hah just playin, this has been such a touchy subject on many honda/acura boards.
i think the cost is such a dterent in most cases, i mean the way i look at it, is by cost analysis.
i think both of them are great swaps, i have seen alot of talk about how the H series sits in a civic is supposedly wrong and things of that nature but i havent seen it affect power delivery.
and the K series is a whole new motor that has alot of potential and really hasnt been cracked wide open yet, there is soo much power to be had from that motor.
i think either of them would be a great choice, if you have the means i would give the K series a try, i think the rarity of it would be nice. toda has some killer head packages that can make another 50hp!
its up to you, depending on what you wanna do with it to, turbo, nitrous, blower???? you plan on building either of them or just swapping it in to the car.
what i have seen is the Tsx bottom end Rsx head, and tranny to build this monster of a motor, now thats whati would go with. and it really doesnt cost much more to do that set up! 2.4L iVtec yO!

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fucking temperamental.
yeah i mean what kinda power do you want. it's hard to beat the potenial of a k-series, but if you only looking for 250-350hp then go h22 all day i hear they run good.
