the car is breaking up, when it goes into boost. it feels like it is hesitating. also the car has started to stall again, when i'm in traffic and have been driving the car for a while.

 

have u tried a different distributor yet? your car was practically impossible to tune because of the ignition issues

 

do you still need it tuned? pm BOOSTJUNKIE, Vijay. He will solve all of your problems and give one of the best tunes your car will see.

 

I would like to see "boostjunkie" tune a vehicle with a malfunctioning ignition

Honestly I wouldn't want to waste my time on a vehicle that obviously is not ready for tuning. If you have a problem with your car such as an ignition issue or a CEL etc you should resolve the issues before scheduling a tuning appointment.

- Before you have your vehicle tuned check list:
* Fuel Pump & Injectors: You must have the proper size & type injectors & fuel pump for your vehicle setup. Please consult with your tuner to ensure you have the proper combination.
* Spark Plugs: Proper spark plugs & spare spark plugs for your application. Please consult with your tuner if you are unsure as to what spark plugs to run.
* Check engine light: Resolve all check engine codes before you have your vehicle tuned.
* Oxygen sensor bung: O2 bung or pre-existing oxygen sensor in your exhaust system.
* Charge piping: Charge pipe couplings must be secure to prevent pipes from blowing off during tuning & causing delays.
* Engine compression (No more then 20psi between cylinders.)
8:1-8.5:1 c/r 150-170 psi per cylinder
8.5:1-9.5:1 c/r 170-210 psi per cylinder
9.5:1-11:1 c/r 210-275 psi per cylinder
11:1+ c/r 250+ per cylinder
* Electrical issues: Please resolve all electrical issues before tuning.
* Brakes, Suspension, Tires: All of these components are extremely important, especially if your going to have your vehicle street tuned. Please make sure they are all in good condition.

 

I shouldnt have even came into this forum, i only referred him to tune the fucking car, not fix the kids problems. Are you going to tune it with the ignition fucked up too?

Honestly I dont care who tunes the car. I was simply implying that he should fix the issues before consulting some one for tuning.

tsib, no worries man. Damon hasn't posted again because he is already in contact with the right person. Some people will blame the inability to tune on mechanical issues, others will simply try to help and figure out the problem regardless of what it is.

John (mtber) hasn't had a shot at this car, nor had a chance to look it over, so his check list would have been part of the problem solving. I'm sure if Damon cared to answer Dave he would have.

He's already giving all the right info to someone that is going to help... not charge $ and not finish doing work.

Don't let this discourage you from poping your head in this forum... I've found that new shops/tuners and just plain change upsets the "balance" and some get defensive. Ignore the rants in this forum, sometimes you get threads that show people are having fun.
