Default Any 4.9FD users???

I am thinking about doing something with my tranny, either a 4.9FD from ATS or a JDM 4.7 FD. Just want to see if anyone else is running a higher FD and still daily driven. Post up yours thoughts!!!

I ran a 4.78 Allmotor B20 Vtec for a while , It was the best addition I did to it . At 80mph it ran about 5500 rpms which your motor wont mind.

The 4.7 on the highway keeps the motor buzzin', otherwise its pretty nice for stop and go traffic. Off the line acceleration is noticably different than with the original GSR FD. And if gas mileage is of any interest, it does hurt it somewhat.

i have the 4.78 jdm, from the ITR tranny on my turbo B16, yes traction in first is a beotch but i love the gears, they are close and keep me in boost.

as far as daily driving goes its fine, but are you gonna beon the highway alot???

mine was great for the track, i could use 22 inch slicks and run some kwik ass 1.8th mile or switch to the 24s and stretch out the gear ratio a bit

i have a friend with a final drive that is like a 5.0 or something crazy like that and it is way too out of control

No I am not going to be on the highway alot, Just bought a 2nd car, so my car gets to sit at home now, come out on night and on the weekends. But I was interested in maybe setting the car up for some autocrossing, Id really like to try it, but I want the car to be ready first. Thanks for your responses.

Any 4.9 FD expierences??
