Default Boost issues...

Well here I am just cruising along tonight(17psi), camaro comes up wanting to roll race, so I drop it down and slaughter him, car ran like a dream that time and has NEVER had this problem at all for me. He wants a lower roll so we go back out, I drop down, boost won't go over 4psi, BOV isn't blowing off, and my car sounds like its got a mad exhaust leak, so I pull over and check all of my charge piping and the silicon boots holding the piping together for rips, everything is fine. Check all of the injector clips push them all down hard, put my hand in front of the wastegate and its blowing a decent amount of exhaust out.. Weird. Vacuum is dead even at 20psi so thats fine, I just don't know what it could be.. I was tryin to get some ideas for when I wake up in the mornin to go mess with it.. Could it be the little valve in the wastegate is stuck down, or clogged or something, or the spring may be bad or something? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

Wastegate is stuck or your not seeing the Charge pipe being blown ...

Check your passenger side front bumper where it goes up into the cahrge pipe , it usually blew off their when blake had it ...

I'm thinking you overlooked a leaky charge pipe. Sometimes they don't just blow, could also be a bad coupler. Don't boost till you find it; if it is a charge pipe leaking, your manifold sees 4psi but you turbo could still be overspooling and that's not good.

I am betting the turbo came loose from the turbo manifold.

It "could" be a charge pipe, it is what I would check first.

If there is a lot of exhaust coming out of the wastegate, the wastegate stuck open....

Dont try to boost it like that or you WILL blow that turbo

Ya I drove it home like a pansy at about 40mph shifting at 2k lol, but if the wastegate is stuck open do I just take it off and pull that little valve down or what? I was thinkin spray some carb cleaner in it to clean it out, b/c something might have built up to make it stick

i doubt the valve is stuck open unless it bent somehow which ive personally never seen. and if you hear and exhaust leak i seriously doubt its a charge pipe causing the problem. start your car when its cold and stick your hand down near the exhaust manifold and turbo and see if u can feel any exhaust gas leaking out where its not supposed to...be quick with it tho because itll get too hot for touch within about 15 seconds

Ok, update: I just went outside and looked, and right where the manifold meets the turbo, is cracked pretty damn bad.. This sucks, I'm going to get another manifold today and throw it on I guess.
