Default BOV question

I plan to run 14 psi on 93 octane and 20 + on C16. I have a HKS SSQ bov and have seen a few situations where they leak boost around the 20 psi range. Easy fix or is the hks just inefficient after mid teen psi? Thinking about going to a Tial 50mm. Now whats the deal with diff spring rates on the Tial gates? Which spring rate is better for Psi up to 24psi? Knowledgeable opinions would appreciated.

P.S. My HKS SSQ BOV is for sale. I will start a formal thread once take some pics.

also im seeing more discussion about the settings of the BOV in relation to the different boost settings. Im not too familar with Tial BOV's, and im just concerned if there is extra tweaking involved to get the Tial bov to work? Say low boost(14psi) and High boost(24psi). Knowledgeable insight would be appreciated. If this gets too be more hassle then benefit they I will probably opt to go with a greddy type R

Id say if your looking for a plain old functional bov, the type r would be the easiest, simplest answer, probably cheapest too. The type rs is slightly bigger than the type s so I dont know what the boost level is on them yet, but I an looking around to get one myself, but how much do you want for your hks bov? PM me a phone number and a price.

The tial unit works the best from what I understand.
Concerning the spring rates: http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1125065

I am sure the greddy types or typer will work just fine also.

You're HKS will handle it fine, I was running 20+ daily a while back with mine. I've never heard a better sounding bov, it sounds completely different under those conditions. The only time you'd have a problem with it under those pressures is if it were either on the hot side or on the IC. Since you have a honda, chances are pretty good it mounted by the intake mani, so it can take the flow up there. I think it's more an issue with cfm than boost where the hks fails.

Thanks for the responses guys. I don't want to sell my hks valve if I do not have to. My primary concern was whether or not I would be ok with this BOV on levels up to 25psi. Thanks for the insight Trip, any others with experiences on the HKS? Trip did you calibrate it the hks SSQ a certain way to be able to handle that much cfm's?

Which spring do you have in your Tial valve? any special adjustments made to your BOV? or did you just put it on and have at it?
