Default VTEC Killer Camshafts

I was just wondering what the actual advantages are . Is it just less rotaional mass in the head from teh cams no longer needing the lost motion assemblies , VTEC lobes adn associated VTEC solenoids etc ...

I'm still up in the air about cams .. Would anyone suggest these over say Buddy Club Stage III or IV or Maybe some JUN 3 ... I want to make over 210WHP N/A so just trying to gather some info ..

vtec killer cams are only for dedicated track cars that never spend more time than the short period in the starting grid trying to idle. the only actual benefit is there's no oil being directed to the vtec solenoid and the removal of the extra now useless crap that would operate the big cam profile. if they were really all that great for everyone, there'd really be no need for vtec.

jun3's, 2.5inch header, 12:1 compression and you should be good to go. the key is revving the motor up to and beyond 9,000 rpm...which means you do have to build it well.

on a side note, vtec killer cams are not practical for a motor that is driven on the street.

my set of buddy clubs specIII broke two weeks ago and i am still buying parts to get it back on the road. but i would have to say that they are very good cams as long as your compression is 10.5:1 or higher, but dont let my story discourage you from getting a set, it was just bad luck that it happened to me.

Motor will be 81.5mm LS Block with 11.5:1 compression .. Head is a B16 with springs/retainers/SS Valves and 3 angle valve job USDM Type-R cams for now.

GE LS VTEC conversion kit and RC 310's on a custom Tuned ECU ... With decent cams I want atleast 200WHP The motor will more than likely have a 100 shot direct port kit on it as well to hopefully get it into the 11's on some slicks .. We'll see what happens when I actually get everythin assembeled adn finalize myself on cams ...
