Default A bit more power: GSR swap question

Hey guys I have a few questions about my integra its a 1996 LS 5speed and it has 139,XXX miles on it and I have been wanting a new car. I have had this one for 2+ years but when i look for a new car nothing really stands out to me but when i look at GSRs i like them a lot i've test drove some of them and i really like the added power they come with. I hate to sound rice but i like the Vtec, but one problem is i dont have a lot of money and a lot of the GSRs are either over priced or just plain ol' too much money so i come to this.... How could I get a GSR swap for my car? i dont know anyone that can swap it in for me? Where is a good place to get one? Oh and could i just buy the engine and hook it up to my transmission? And for my last question how reliable would this be I drive everyday so i would need to turn on everyday and generaly how much would you pay for a swap like this?

**I have about 2000$ MAX to spend**** Thanks for a feedback

For a legit, good running motor its going to cost you $3300+ shipping. Otherwise, its REALLY hard to find a good one for cheaper than that. I would recommend NOT running your LS tranny on a GSR cause that LS tranny will rob alot of power from it. If you are able to save up some more money, head over to www.hmotorsonline.com and pick up one of their motors. Ive heard nothing but good things from them. As for finding someone to swap it for you, just post up a thread on here, and someone will be able to do it for you. I had juiced2ndgenteg do it for me.

i wouldnt use the tranny either, its like having a 1000 watt amp, and 2 audiovox 8inch subs!!!

you could find just the motor for around that much, but you would want a tranny as well, i suggest either doing an LS/vtec, and just buying a gsr tranny, or B16 tranny, you would spend right at 2 grand

Why the hell would you want to down size from a 1.8 to a 1.6 This doesn't make any since to me I would go lsvtec or straight gsr

hey hey hey not all 1.6 are bad:o) but yes if you like the VTEc so much find a nice b18c/b16a2 dohc vtec head change out your pistons to some nice p73/pr3 pistons then work on the ecu and wireing will be WAY less then 2K with the rest of the money take your girl out to a nice place and make sure she gets that meal biggiesized

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fucking temperamental.
