my timing belt broke and now im stuck trying to take off the damn crank pulley bolt, my impact isnt strong enough any ideas this is really kickingmy ass.

thanks for telling me this bolt is in reverse i have been tigtenin the whole fuckin time

 

crank bolts are standard thread. not reverse thread. get a bigger impact - 3/4 gun or find someone on here who has a crank pully holder tool.

 

if your impact wont open is you will either need a special tool to hold the crank from turning and a very long breaker bar, or you can heat it, which prolly wont work. so i would go with the large breaker bar and the holder if you can find one.

Waste of time...Take the starter out okay. Get something that you trust not to slip between the teeth on the flywheel and have someone hold it thats not a pussy. get a 3/4 inch drive breaker bar and put you 17 mm on that thing. If you can't muster up the strength to get if off, get a hollow pipe and put it on the breaker bar handle like a glove. That should do it very quickly.

 

I don't have an impact gun to loan you, but I have a new B16 OEM timing belt for sale, if you need one. Check sig.

 

no one uses the breaker bar wedged and turn the engine over method?

 

ok i got the bolt off replaced the belt now the car doenst have any power below 4k
