Get an aluminum A/N fitting and have it welded. It will work better than a tapped fitting.

the oil pan is aluminum? I don't know d-series but, I use a -10AN bulkhead fitting with the long end trimmed down. use some high temp silicone and locktite. NO LEAKS. on B-series steel oil pans.

Y8 pan is cast aluminum. Alot of time on those pans with tapped fittings they tend to strip out.

www.racingsuperstore.com (Talk to Mike) -10 an Bluk head set of seals with 2 bulk head nuts. Just drill a whole, silicone that baby in and tighten it down. Make sure you're returning on top of the oil pan and not to low. No welding and you can do it your self. Works for me.

Make sure you clean out all the metal shavings from drilling the whole.

any competent welding shop could do it. i prefer it welded incase something loosens up you dont starve your engine of oil. They even put a chemical on the weld that will show ANY pinholes from welding so you truly get a perfect seal and NO chance of it coming loose.
