Default obd-2 motor in obd-1 car

i have an eg civic (d16z6) and i just got an ek motor (d16y the eg is obd1 and ek is obd2... since most pple convert to obd1 anyways, can i just use the ecu thats in there now cuz

1) my vafc is already soldered to my obd1 ecu
2) my lucas 440s from my z6 are fitted for obd1 injector clips

i know as far as the greddy manifold and my six puck goes, everything is a match among the 2 d-series but i wasnt sure if i could just use all my z6 wiring and ecu on the y8 so if someone could clear that up for me that would be splendid

You can convert the OBD-2 motor to OBD-1 OR speak to someone like Jason (60-1 EK) about making you an OBD-2A/B - OBD-1 conversion harness.

Um... why exactly would he want a conversion harness when his car is already obd1 ?

Run your obd1 sohc harness with your obd1 ecu, convert what ever else you want to convert such as your distributor plugs & alternator plugs to obd2 on your obd1 harness so you could run the newer components if you choose to.

Just leave your Z6 engine harness intact, switch the injectors from the z6 to the y8, use the alternator from the z6 on the y8, and I believe you can also switch the distributors between the 2... Other than that, all wiring is the same, and will be plug and play....
