K20 mounts for EF's
I just saw it today. Being priced at $750, axles at $400 and harness at $350, these prices scare me away from the $5600 price-tag of the engine even MORE.

Sure, it's powerful, but thats at least $8000 for a swap....More than I paid for both of my hatches and CRX. Anyone in the Tampa have a K20 or K20 project? Is it worth it? How does the car handle? etc.

its just such a new motor, its gonna be expensive, in a few years im sure you will find them everywhere for alot cheaper.....but then again, alot more people will have the swap...its the price of exclusivity!!!....and go with the K20a mmmmmm

dont go with a k20..............go with a k24!!!!!mmmmmm, use all the same shit plus mounts too, and you can get a k24 at a decent price, right at 2 grand or less, i saw a few on another site for the longblock going for 1800.oo . not bad then y ou can pick whatever tranny you want to use

The K24 doesn't respond as well to modifications as the K20A (especially the R) if you want a demonstration on what a K20 swapped EG hatch can do with just 3boltons .... here it is http://hybrid-racing.com/images/gall.../Shorty1.1.wmv . Now imagine what a built K20 or just a K20 with a headjob can do (let alone a boosted one) .... pretty scary.
Yes it is expensive ... not much more then a type-r swap, and it is more involving ... but this is the future of the swap. If i would have had the cash i'd definetely do it. K20A's are supposedly as light as the B16 so you won't be adding more weight then a B16 swap would. Everybody that i've talked to with a Kswap loves theirs.
for the same price as the k20-r you can get a type-s tranny with a k24 bottom and k20-s/r head(real vtec). k24's dont respond well to mods because they lack real vtec. the skunk2 all motor rsx is running 9's with the k24/type-r combination.

Just make sure the K24 that you get is the one from the TSX. The accord and CR-V K24s suck. The K24 that comes w/ the TSX responds to mods better.

The K20A tranny w/LSD usually only handles around 250-maybe 265whp reliably. Anyone looking for more power usually swaps out that LSD for a quaife, and swaps in a TSX 6th gear, or uses their K20A2 tranny and swaps in a Type R final drive and a quaife.
the k24 i was speaking of is from the TSX, im in the hunt for one as well.
a company is swapping a TSX motor into a S2000 and seeing what it is like in the rwd chassis, im sure it will be better in low and mid but way off on top. but for less money and more torque, its a better deal.
