Default can i do this?

i wanna swap a 98 d16y8 sohc vtec motor into my 94 hatch. i was wandering if i could use my motor mounts on my car now and if not wich ones do i need? also i can use my wiring harness right? how will i make it work? thanx

if you want to stay obd 1, you need a P28 ECU and a 92-95 cx/vx/dx distributor. everything else should hook up without problems. as for the mounts, SHOULD work, but i'm not sure. i'll look into it though..........i have nothing else to do.

actually you should use your wiring harness, or one from the vtec models of that year like an si or ex, use the obdI vtec distributor and a vtec ecu, if you use the non vtec dizzy you have to do some converting on it, and it always ends up not being right.

you mounts depending on what model yo uhave will work, the main drivers mount may have to be removed from you motor and attached to the new motor, when i mean mount i mean the bracket between the timing belt and corresponding mount from your chassis

z6 dist doesn't bolt to the y8 head w/o mods. only cx/vx/dx does...

so which dizzy do i use? the z6 or the cx,dx,lx,vx ?

don't the guts out of a z6 dist. fit into a cx, vx, dx dist? look here (been busy all wekend for once) http://www.honda-tech.com

any more info cuz im still confused. some say to use a 92-95 sohc dizzy and ecu and others say to use the y8 dizzy and ecu. then i got guys sayin to use the y8 dizzy and p28 ecu. wtf? i know i need the obdII to obdI conversion harness, so what else? i heard that the 92-95 vtec dizzy wont even bolt on right. some one who has actually swaped a d16y8 motor into a 92-95 civic non-vtec help.thanx
