Need Help w/Tranny (5th and Reverse Gone)

Need Help w/Tranny (5th and Reverse Gone)
Well its official. My 5th Gear Sync. is gone....as well as my Reverse. So now its time for one of two things to happen.
1. I can rebuild my Ls Tranny and let it ride.
2. I can buy a new Tranny (different than the Ls).
I have a 99 Ls so which of these two would be the better route. If I go with the rebuild I know what I have since I've been with the Ls Tranny from the get go. If I do a Tranny swap what would be the best one to run besides the Ls? Or is the Ls my best bet for its longer gears? Thanks!

ok....added tranny fluid. I got 5th back but Reverse is still gone. I can't get 5th if the car is sitting still but if I'm shifting through my gears in motion it goes nice in smooth. Is there any way of getting Reverse back or is it just gone completely?
