I've had good luck carrying an old o-ring into NAPA and saying:
Can you match this up?
NAPA has a small craft box that contains a variety of o-rings.

The tire guys always want to sell another tire valve.
I usually look at the rubber part to see if they really need to be replaced.
I no longer use the all rubber valves.

I keep thinking that ACME or maybe VICTOR has METAL valve stems and two different sizes
of FLAT-looking rubber rings that fit close around the valve stem. The reason for the two
sizes is that some mag wheels have either of two sizes of hole drilled into the rim.
.453 or .625 rim hole.

The metal valve stems are almost indestructible.....and they last forever. The stem fits in from the bottom,
and a flat NUT screws down from above on top of a flat washer which fits on the valve stem.
I usually get the short version (1 1/4 long) of the tire valve to avoid it getting hit by anything.

I've also used them on STEEL rims......since the nut screws down all the way on the outside of the rim.
With steel rims, I sometimes file the flat washer into a slight "D" shape to clear the steel rim, if the washer
touches the steel.
The UPC of the valve is 77231 04100....
might be sold over the internet these days if Advance, A-zone, or Oreillys don't have them.

Another valve stem story......

Newer cars sometimes have Tire Pressure Monitors that will show on the instrument panel.
Most cars match the TPM electronically to the particular car/computer.
Last time I had a flat, I told Tire guy NOT to replace the One piece valve and tire pressure monitor.

I figured the TPM would either send or not send pressure to the instr panel
and that would tell me if it was still good or not.....and I really didn't trust tire guy to do it right.
The OEM TPM was still working and sent the info to the instr panel after a few seconds
of driving.

and saved me the cost of tire guy middle-manning another TPM from the dealer to me.
