weight reduction question???????
im getting a 91 teggy GS and im used to being in light ass crx's, i want to get this tank as light as possible but retain full interior, i was wantin to see if someone has done anything similar and whatd you do and also i was wondering how much 1/4 mile time is saved by loosing weight on cars, ive heard 1/10th second for every 100lbs. just wondering if anyone knows

Remove the carpet and remove all sound deadening fuzz and tar. You can then reinstall the carpet if you wish.
Convert the doors to manual windows to save a few pounds. Get them out of an RS model.
Convert to a maual steering rack out of an ef civic.
If you really want to save some weight put the car up on a lift and pressure wash all the undercarriage shit off, this will leave you more prone to rusting though.
After this if you still want more you can remove and plug the sunroof and lexan the non roll-down windows.
There are a ton more ways to do it.

its not gunna be run on the track but its gunna be run, im not a track kinda person, ill prolly do the sound shit under the carpet, i already started on trimming metal i dont need. i wish i couldve got ahold of a RS but i got a deal i couldnt refuse on the car.

i belive the 91 gs has about 2643lbs IF its a stick..autos are 2701lbs..i have the 92 RS version..somewhere just over 2500.(maybe 10-60lbs more)
just cut weight when going to the track.back seats panels carpet,passanger seat etc...i just remove all my rear interior and leave the front alone..then just replace it when i get home or soon after..-Greg

If this isn't a track car, cutting ANYTHING from this car is a SERIOUSLY BAD idea. Just FYI. Perhaps instead of tryin to lighten the car, try to find a better shell to work with, and leave this car as your DD?
