vtec help

Default vtec help

I got a gsr swap for my integra but my vtec is not engaging. everything is in working order its all wired up to the ecu right and my friend said that its something between my ecu and the dash can anyone got any ideas on what it is or how to fix it

you sure the vtec is grounded? you sure your even useing a vtec ecu?

You need to check for continuity between the engine bay vtec wireing & your ecu to rule out wirng issues.

like mtber said check for codes . things like map and tps can cause vtec not to work.

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fucking temperamental.

look on the ecu and tell use the letter/numbers on it when you put the motor in did you change the ecu or keep the same one?

put 12v to the vtec solenoid activation wire at idle, if the soleniod clicks but nothing happens(vtec didn't engage), you have a mechanical problem(rocker arms or LMA's) . if the solenoid clicks and your car starts idling rough and almost stalls(vtec engaged) then its something electrical. if your solenoid dosn't click then get a new vtec solenoid. the vtec solenoid should "click on" when you put 12v to the activation wire. this should help you figure out what is wrong.
