ok i know that to run a z6 head on a obdIIa car ( 96-98 ) i need to run a jumper harness so the car will be obdI like the z6 head. my question is, can i run the z6 on a y8 dist and ECU to avoid getting a jumper harness? also on the mini me (block being used is y7) do i buy the head gasket for the head im using or the block?

the y8 distributor won't bolt up the arms are to long. all you have to do is rewire it just match up the color of the wires it's simply. and yes you can run the ob2 ecu and harness. if you near clearwater i can help you i have a mini-me in my hatch.

 

its not ready to go on yet, i still need to put the skunk cam and aem cam gear on it. do you know what head gasket to use? block or head?

 

use your y7 block, get a d16y8 head gasket, and use your z6 head.

 

should i just upgrade to the obdI?

 

i would worry about gettibng it running first cause mini-me always have problems that need to get fixed ie timing, vacuum leaks, to much oil pressure. then go obd-1.

 

How about u sell that shit and just go with a b series swap waste of time for your car

 

and chris if your gonna say too much stop buying shit u dont need and u can get a b series swap sell ur mount kit sell ur intake manifold and the head and if u got the can and can gear use that money for the swap. call me
