Heres the deal. I'm trying to find a white ek hatch ( Extremely rare) So far the only one in my area is a automatic. Now I'm planning on doing a swap anyways but do you guys think I should go ahead with the auto until I do the swap and then convert it or should I just wait and try to find a 5-speed?

 

If this was me i would wait to find a 5speed.... converting auto to manual is a bitch, and it will never run as good as a 5speed, one of my friends has a 92-95 that was auto and converted to stick, it runs good and all but the pedals are so off its not even funny, its a pain in the ass to drive the car and your feet hurt after a while, i say wait for an ek 5-speed.

I dont kno how many people here will agree w/ me but, dont rush into things, take your time, if you wanna get it done right.

 

or just go ahead and build up the automatic!

exactly that is wrong information maybe the person who did the swap did not do it properly

my hubby a few years ago, bought a super clean 240 SX SE only problem it was an auto, he found a blown up 240 SX Manual swaped in our garage in one weeknd and wow I wanted to just keep driving and driving and driving, we never had a problem with it!!

If you decided to buy it and do the swap, call my hubby Cisco at Transmission Exchange 238-3900, he will give you a good deal, and if you are able to help he can do it at the house even cheaper

swapping to manual in a rwd car is wayyyyy easier though.

 

Auto to manual in an ek is very straight forward bolt on procedure. If I remember right the only thing that you have to do to the body is drill holes for shift likage and the rest is all bolt on.

 

If you decide to get the auto, give Racing Integration a call. They did the conversion on my ek and you really can't tell it was ever an automatic.
