I need help with a Cigarette Lighter!

Default I need help with a Cigarette Lighter!

ok , my friend has a 94 integra without a working Cigarette Lighter , he said he went out and bought a new one but doesnt know how to install it , does n e one know how to wire or install the Cigarette lighter ? I havent had to look at it yet but i know how to install stupid stuff like Cd-Players and Sound systems so i was wondering if it was similar too that or if anyone has had thie problem before could kindly tell me thanx call 610-6896 or hit me up on AIM thanx guyz

There are 2 wires... Positive and negative... Hook em up to the postivie (Red) and negative ( Black ) wires on the lighter...

thats pretty much all there is to it!...just take the old one out and put the new one in, connecting the wires the same way!......may want to disconnect the battery too.

so as long as i dont touch them together there really shouldnt be a reason for me to disconnect the battery right? oh and thanx for the quick ass replys.

Together, or positive to to anything metal or electrical...

... you can install a cd player and a system but you had to ask about a cigarette lighter?

yep ive never had to do it before, im an self learner i mess with things , like i said its not my car i didnt want to start yanking stuff out.

ah well i can admire that, you might want to look into learning about the 12 volt system....

for example "ground" is not anything metal, the negative terminal of the battery is connected directly to the cars frame, anything conductive that is connected to the cars frame is then also a negative terminal which is why you don't want a 12 volt wire to touch it. if you ever need any help with anything dealing with wires don't hesitate to give me a pm, i'll be glad to help you.
