Be careful with the type S. I'm not 100% sure but I believe it runs a tranny like the usdm SH. Wiring that tranny in is a big pain in the ass. I'd look into the Euro Accord type R motor, same hp and a better tranny.

If you are doing all the work then you can make the mounts with a combination of stock mounts and brakets mix matched between the two. Chances are you are going to need to fabricate the chassis brackets from scratch and use the h22a rear bracket and both drivers side mount and upper tranny bracket. You are probably going to have to attach the stock h22a rear tranny mount to the 88prelude rear crossmember. That should be pretty straight forward.

The wiring will need to be converted to obd1, if you have not converted obd0 to obd1 hondas before then get someone who has. Probably will be a little involved.

If your 88 lude usues a mechanical vss then you will also need to convert your car to an electronic vss if you want your speedometer to work (I don't recall what kind of vss the old ludes run). There are ways around this if you don't need the speedo to work and just need it bypassed for vtec engagement. You may also be able to run the mechanical vss from the old lude in the nh22a tranny.

Axles. Since the mounts will be custom you are going to have some trial and error on the what axle combo to run.

So your going to pay alot more for a few more hp's, i have the euro motor on my other prelude and i loved the long gears, o and u well have fuel cut at 120mph which might be a good thing.

 

well im gonna need somone to convert it to obd1 because ive never done that before, and whats this about a fuel cut off? can that be changed? i always forget to realize all the other work in a swap like this, i might just endup building the bottom end of this prelude and turboing it, but it still dont get over the fact that the thing dont run right now, and the fact that i cant figure out what the hell is wrong w/ it. I change the clutch and now it dont run......cool concept huh? Well im not 100% sure on what im gonna do now, that h22 would be fuckin sick in the lude tho. Someone mentioned a b18 typeR, but thats droppin me 0.2L? Check on honda-tech, preludeonline.com I know this swap has been done before. Used to see a 3rd gen w/h22 out at desoto every once in awhile.. you do not want the types swap. If you're looking to spend that much, go with either the euro r swap or the atr swap. euro r has a nice tranny.. short 1st-4th with a long 5th, same pistons/cams as types, same hp output. Just my .02 cents..
