Question what to do with my head ???

my b16 head has been sitting in my garage for a while now and iv saved up some money and thought of getting my head done. it will be used for lsvtec so i cant think of what i should do either port n polish with 3 angle valve job or just a valve job and a clean up of the head?? later i will be upgrading my valvetrain and using differant cams so i want those to be more effective also so if anyone has done any of this to there head or for there lsvtec lmk if its worth it or no or what i should do thanx

imo if the head is already off and you can work on it and the funds are availalbe. I would PnP, 3 angle valve job, do the valve train, unshroud the valves by cleaning up the quench area, and then put it back on.

If you have go back to do the valve train there is a neat tool that clamps on to the top of the head that allows you to work on the valve train without removing it from the block. Ask KJ about it, I've seen him use it once.

I'm not a fan of removing the head from the head gasket after a good seal is obtained. Also isn't it *not* a good idea to keep untorquing and torquing back down the head bolts?

I'm still learning here so if I am wrong ...

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

75% or more of the gains in a street head job (on a Honda) is from a good valve job and back cut on the valves. The actual PnP carries the remaining 25% but is the most labor intensive and takes up most of the cost of getting a head done.

If you've got the cash then go for the complete head job, if not then get a good 3 angle on a serdi machine and you'll be good to go.
