mpfi swap gone bad, ahhh!!!
well, i bought the complete conversion from janky last night, and today i started on the isntall....i took a couple things into notice, like i may need a new fuel line from an si, and a bracket for the intake mani to bolt up too....other than that, i had everything...so i started at the ECU...problem number1. de- pinning wires is a absolute bitch...i freaking mangled the hell out of my plugs trying to get them out...end result? pins C1 and C2 were out, but the wire came off because i was somewhat physical when taking them out...heres the thing, needles dont work....tiny screwdrivers dont work...hell, i went to the store and bought the smallest drill bit made and poked it through the opposite side and guess what, no that didnt work either...my brothers penis was actually to big for this one..ha! strike 1!!! anyways, i went to all the places i could think of trying to find a damn "special ECU depinning tool" but not a single place in bradenton knew what the hell iwas talking about, so a single finger salute to the following, radio shack, pep boys, autozone, and home depot...i decided to just stop, and try some other day...so then came the problem of putting bare wires back into the plugs...bad idea? yes...my fingers hurt like absolute piss right now...anyways, the car ran like ass....i thought it was bare wires, but before i taped them up i had 6 codes being thrown, yea no shit...so i taped them up and 1 code came back.....code 4....which is the crank angle sensor...whatever...and when i was throwing the 6 codes i think the car went into limp mode, i didnt go past 4grand, and the hatch sounded nasty...anyways, since i know there are some smart people on here, what do you recommend? i have a 1990 std civic hatch...should i just abandone this damn thing? help

Hmm...the OBD0 pins suck no doubt. I have always found that if you yank good on the wires with some pliers, you will get the wire and the pin out in tact. Then you can bend the clip back when you go to plug it back in. Just remember to open the white clip before you try anything. As for the car running like crap...umm..confirm your wiring. I have done that conversion 50 times or so with no problems so I would go back and check the wiring.
on the odb 0 wire on the plugs were you cannot get to the pins as easy as the white plug i used a straigt ping and bent the tip of it with a pair of plires so it is at a 45 degree angle. and when you look at the plug head one you will see a row of hole down the center of the plug. i am not talking about the ones that the ecu pins go in but the ones in the middle. then you take your modified strait pin and you put the bent part of the needel towards the pin and press it into the little metal clip that holds the pin in the socket it is kind of a pain in the ass but with some patients and time they will come right out and the plug will be fine.
update: the car runs normal again, i had soem resistance in the wires....(and bad connections) you say you have done this swap 50 times? well will i need a new fuel line? and how important is it to have the intake mani bracket? anyways, the car runs like it did before i started to work on it, so its fine...im thinking of going to buy the tool, and then trying again...
