I just got my hands on an '88 accord dx hatch. I am going to be using mainly for pizza delivery and getting to and from school. There are a few bueaty marks and not everything works perfectly on the car, but it seems mechanically sound. What do you expect for $700.

I was just curious if there are any recalls/ know faulty parts/ common problems/ great cheap upgrades/ or anything else you care to share about this car.

 

dont waste your time on on upgrading it....my opinion

 

they are common for oil leaks front/rear main seals,but other
than that,Id drive it intill the wheels fall off......
I have a 89 lxi accord and would not bother putting any upgrades.

 

To tell the truth, I wasn't going to upgrade it. I was just curious about the car. As far as driving it 'til the wheels fall off, that was the plan all along. Thanks for the knowledge and opinions.

are the 88s carborated?or is that a few years older?

how many miles on the engine? just make sure you keep the oil changed, brakes are good, decent tires. its a honda, so your good to go man be safe on the job

 

The '88s come carb'd or fuel injected. Mine is carb'd (a20a3). The injected motor is an a20a1.
