I was driving home tonight when my car just seems to just shut down on me. I was in 3rd gear and it sounded like it just went out of gear, and then i reved it like 2 times, then it just shut down on me. I pulled the car over and tried to turn it back on and the starter is working just fine. but the car wont turn on. I dont think its a tranny problem becuase that wouldn't cause it to not turn on would it?

I have a bad water pump, but the radiator is full, and the car has been running fine all day.

i was only doing like 30 or so in 3rd so its not like i was doggin it, i just got my clutch done 2 days ago with a new transmittion.

Does anyone know whats going on or give me some suggestions, only thing i can think of is the fuse for the fuel pump, or distributor, but would a distributor cause the car to just shut off like that? I have plenty oil....... leme know what you think please

ive seen water pumps come apart and the gear fall off check your timeing belt.

but most likly your ignitor went out pretty common it has happened to me twice.

Tru tru, well i turn the key and the car starts chokin, but it never turns on. the starter works perfect. Can you guys familirize me with ingnition, cause i've never messed w/ it so i dont know what to look for. Would that have cause my car to just die out on me while I was driving?

 

yeah if the ignitor is bad you wouldnt get any spark to your plugs so it would definitely cause your car to die
