Unhappy So I have some bad luck...

Me and a good friend of mine were on our way to 78th st. last night when i decide to roll race someone, and i downshift and hit vtec and it starts breaking up all through vtec so i think to myself, maybe im low on oil.. go to the gas station and when i start to slow down i push in the clutch and the oil light comes on and the car almost stalls, so i pull into the store to find it knocking like hell.. Well i get 2qts of oil since im dangerously low and then i start it, sounds fine... Little did i know that it had been knocking the whole way to tampa i just had my radio up too loud lol.. Well i move around 3ft or so, and it starts knocking again (it only knocks over 3k rpms) so ihad to ride home at 30mph, in north lakeland (2.5 hour drive). The car DOES NOT knock at idle, only over 3k rpms, and its not even a loud knock.. Now this brings me to my questions..

What are the chances that all i will need to replace is going to be the rod bearing itself?

If i need to replace MORE than just the rod bearing, what usually would have to be replaced?

More then likely your crank is damages & you will need to resurface your crank's rod journal or buy a new crank along with buying a new rod bearing & possibly resurfacing the rod's bearing seat area.

It amazes me when people run their cars out of oil or hydrolock it it the rain. I'm really sorry to hear about this but thats not bad luck. Bad luck would be something thats out of your control. Maybe when you take it apart you can put lower compression pistons in so you can spray it safely.

yea odds are the crank has some scratching on the journal and will probably need to be resurfaced. the rod could also be damaged and need to be resurfaced/replaced.i find it amzing u lost all your oil in 3 days unless there was a leak, obviously it was time for a new motor anyways....have fun
