Default Got some engine Q's

Ok here we go, I Currently have a 97 GS B18B1, Now I have a complete B16 V-Tec and also I have a LS Block

Which way should I go...

I am keeping this as a daily driver, I want a noticeable power increase but nothing extremely drastic. I will be stayin Automatic for now.

I hear alot about LS/Vtec, some good some bad, I want to get your imput here and see what the pros and cons are, I know some about cars so I am just trying to learn

Thanks,

~Michele~

Ok now someone else told me to keep the B18 and put the B16 Head on, If I am not mistaken head work would have to be done and I could raise the compression quite a bit if I went that route, would someone help me a bit here, I dont know if I am saying everything properly but hey I am learning

you can order a ls/vtec kit from golden eagle so no machining would need to be done. build the spare ls block w/jdm b16 or type r pistons to increase compression and slap the b16 head on there and the vtec controller. also then you always need to run 93 octane gas. i suggest doing to manual swap though.

yes i would get rid of your ls pistons to give you alil more power i got some Pr3 pistons that will help and i would go with the lskit to get the dowlpins that are made for the converson only head work is to plug the oilfeel hole on the bottom of the head MAKE sure you do it Made this mistake and it sucked

take the b16a apart. take your LS pistons&rods and b16 pistons&rods to a machine shop. have them put the b16 pistons on the LS rods. also while your there get ARP rod bolts installed on the LS rods. take the LS block to the machine shop, tell them to re-hone the cylinders. buy NEW honda bearings & rings. Buy a gasket set. Buy the golden eagle lsvtec-kit. Buy ARP GSR headstuds. Buy GOOD assembly lube. Buy plastigauge. Assemble the engine step buy step following a HAYNES(not chiltons) Manual. Prime the oil by cranking the engine without spark plugs untill the oil Light goes OUT. then start it up for real.
