ask for standard size.......but IMP opinion you should go with some oversized ITR's for all motor or the wiseco 545's for low compression

most piston sets will include rings but theyll most likely need to be filed down to the correct gap. when building a motor u need to take the block to a machine shop to have the piston to wall clearance set to the piston manufacturors specs and to make sure the cylinders are not out of round. forged pistons need a lot more clearance than oem pistons, if not done correctly you can do a lot of damage to both the piston and the cylinder walls

ok so its ok to buy the std bore size piston first then take the block and pistons to the machine shop and have them install then right

as long as the cylinder walls dont have any damage thatll require them to be over-bored

Order to d it right for forged pistons:

1. Have block checked out to see if it is out of round. This takes a cylinder bore gauge. Some mechanics have them or just take it to a machine shop. Gauge must be able to read into the ten thousandths.

2. If the cylinders are good and round then order the std bore piston set. If they are not get an appropriate over size set. Usually .25mm or .5mm.

3. Have the machine shop hone the block to the correct piston to wall clearance specified BY THE PISTON MANUFACTURER.

For a std. bore oem piston follow the first two steps but for the third you can hone the cylinders yourself. The goal isn't to remove any material, just remove the glaze and put a nice crosshatch pattern on the walls. I personally use a ball hone type of tool. Use the correct grit for the engine. I use a 360 grit for Hondas.
