sputtering to 3k rpms??

sputtering to 3k rpms??
my car has been sputtering to 3k rpms in every gear. do i need to replace my fuel filter or my dizzy? this is getting really irritating. anyone have any suggestions?

check to see if it is giveing a code from your ecu

could be your wires, dizzy components, sparek plugs, fuel filter \, ecu all those stuff try the easiest thing first.

the fender punching might be a possibility 
i forgot to mention my car sputters when in nuetral at idle and the rpms sit and jump around from 300 to 700
