rod and piston question (help)

Default rod and piston question (help)

ok im in between a rock and a hard spot so any help would be great ok heres what i got im building ls vtec i got eagle hbeam rods and jdm itr pistons is it ok to have the rods shaved to fit the pistons or do i sell the hbeams and go stock or do i sell the pistons and get forged piston basicaly i just want to know if any1 has had bad problems with shaving the rod or piston

you can not run forged rods with oem pistons unless you have retaining clips machined into the piston like in aftermarket forged pistons. Otherwise there is nothing holding the wrist pin in place since both the rods and pistons are slip fit. Sell the eagles and pick up some oem rods and arp rod bolts. You will still have to fly cut the piston saddles to fit the small end of the rod. Have the pistons re-balanced after they are fly cut.
