Default Idle Goes Up And Down

WHEN EVER I TURN MY CAR ON IN THE MORNING OR WHEN EVER THE MOTOR IS COLD THE RPM's WILL CLIMB UP TO ABOUT 2600 AND SIT THERE FOR ABOUT A 30-60 SECONDS THEN WILL DROP DOWN TO IDLE 600-800 RPM THEN BACK UP TO 2600. IT DOES THIS UP AND DOWN STUFF UNTIL IT IS COMPLETELY WARMED UP. SOME ONE TOLD ME IT WAS THE MAP SENSOR BUT IM NOT EXACTLY SURE WHERE ITS AT IF THAT IS THE PROBLEM.

THE CAR IS A 1989 CRX SI WITH A B16A1 SWAP. YOUR HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

THANK YOU...

check your idle air control senor, take it off and clean the screen then put it back on or unplug itand see if the surging stops

Could be the Throttle Position Sensor. Best bet is to get a manual for 92-95 Del Sol and start checking.

it's on the back of your intake manifold, held on my 2 12mm bolts, pull off the two coolant lines, plug them, clean the IACV with some brakleen, let it dry, hook everything back up and fire her up.
