Ok so I just got the thermal RD 3inch installed and Im loving it , the sound, the way the car pulls everything BUT...


now my 7-9psi spring in my turbonetics evoultion wastegate boosts to 10-10.5psi. I have the Apexi AVC-R boost controller and I want to boost 10lbs(daily) not 10.5. Any way i can get this done considering that the boost controller wont let you boost any less than the spring in the wastegate allowS? where can I buy a 5-7psi spring?

I want to basically boost 10lbs as fast and hard and early in the rpm band as possible but dont want it to be spiking to 10.5 daily.

not really BUT over time it may , I have stock internals and I have a turbo thats not too tiny so it may make some difference over time PLUS it spikes 10.5 and doesnt hold it anyhow..

i would try contacting your wastegate's manufacturer regarding another spring.

 

.5 lbs of boost is not going to hurt you. As long as you have good a/f you will be fine on 10lbs. if you want to run less order a smaller spring(if they make one) from Turbonetics. I wish my only problem was i was running a half a pound too much boost.

 

with a full exhaust you will also see a different increase in boost spool rate that is different when you dont have exhuast. have you ever noticed that with no exhaust or open D/P you peg your desired boost rather quickly but it really doesnt feel like much is going on??? this happens when i open my cutout, it reads 12 psi but doesnt feel like shit till i actually hit like 4500-5000rpms, im pretty sure its the same as this issue

thats a pretty sweet turbo ya go there, im gonna switch to the T3-60-1 76 trim wheel .63 AR on both sides, i think it flows just @ 1000cfm, and mine only flows like 700 now, that thing should make full boost by like 3 grand on your car
