Default Tunning Help

need some quick tunning till i get on the dyno (till i get $)
here it is...
B16
Skunk2 gears,IM,valvetrain,stg2 cams, black nitrided valves, blah blah blah.....

cams zero'd out right now... whats a safe setup on gear adjustment, fuel, and vtec point.

talked to Guy at A.E. and he said that my vtec poping in and out between 4800 and 6200 is mostly likely a HP dip and needs to be tunned out with a vtec controller.

and wheres the best place to get dyno tuning for a honda since secret services had to close.

the vtec popping in and out has jack to do with hp, vtec relies on engine temp, mph, rpms, %throttle, and I think oil pressure. if you are after the rpm that vtec engages and are over 20mph then it should stay engaged regardless of hp. and no I don't believe the vtec controller will solve this, it sounds like more of an engine problem and not an ecu tuning issue. as for dyno I think there is a place in brandon on 60 and 301, not sure of the name maybe someone else can shed some light.

The cams will not cause the vtec to go in and out. When you say this, can you really hear vtec kicking in and out.....or is that what the butt dyno is telling you?

if vtec is really going in & out first check your vetc solenoid wires make sure they are not cut and in good shape next check your oil - low pressure will cause it not to engage also make sure your car is always operating temps before going into it as far as dynoing Jon at lht is very good at tuning all honda setups 727-344-1800

skunk2 stage 2's dont like vtec engagement below 5700 in most cases for some strange reason. ass tuning is not a good way to tune your car, espcially w/o a wideband assisting u. PM me if your interested in getting your car dyno tuned. ill do it for a very fair price.
