Default Integra D16a1 Cams

A frind of mine has recently replaced his head gasket and now his car starts runs for a little while and then dies. He thinks that he might have mixed up the intake and exhaust cams, is that possible? Ane there any markings on the cams to know which is which?

Any help would be appreciated

yeah one should say INT also there is no way to mix them up becaue the intake cam will have 2 notches in it for the distributer where as the exhaust cam does not, if you mix them up, you cant put the distributor on and is virtually impossible to make it run, chances are his timing is way off

On the d16a1 both cams have the notches....... a good service manual should sho you the markings that differentiate for you.....O'll see if I can find them.

Default You the man

Thanks KJ, You're the man. I think either his timing is really off or they have to be switched.

By the way you would happen to know anyone gettign rid of a distributor for a 91 accord
