Default throwing code (help)

My friend started to throw a knock sensor code on a 88-91 hatchbatch b16 and he dont know were the knock sensor is located on his block

It should be located above the oil filter on the back of the block....

could that directly affect vtec from working properly? cuz my im missing the knock sensor on my block and my vtec works for crap.

yea, duh, cuz ur knock sensor is one of the main things that make ur vtec work, if ur low on oil it will make ur vtec feel like its not kicking in right

It depends on your ecu
If your running a chipped ecu, it shouldnt look for knock.

It is probably an additional problem.

Like I tell everyone, resolve all codes, then diagnose from there.
