A couple days ago I was driving around and I decided to give my car a nice 2nd gear pull coming off an onramp...As revved my motor higher and higher all of a sudden my car jolts back and falls out of VTEC......I come to a red light and my car is idling at 3000 rpms and no VTEC. I take it home make a jumper for my ECU to see which codes are being thrown and it shows up as my TPS sensor is knocked out to shit.....It seems as if instead of a 10 or 12 mm bolt being in the place on the the other side of the throttlebody there is a flathead screw inits place. Anyway, I messed around with the idle and got it down a 1000 but then today it has shot up to 1500. All this time I still havent had VTEC. Im guessing in OBD2 Hondas VTEC is also regulated by your TPS sensor......any solutions or comments that are worth voicing are greatly appreciated



Cliff Notes: TPS sensor lets car idle at 1500 rpm and I have no damn VTEC!!!

Btw, vtec works off of your speed sensor.

 

i have codes and my vtec works....turn the screw on top of your throttle body to adjust your idle...........

 

You don't run an obd2 ecu do you now ?

 

VTEC works off VSS,TPS and oil pressure

 

the only code being thown is the TPS co other that a secondary 02 sensor..........

 

Resolve all your codes, then your car will run normal.

Btw, you seriously need to trash that obd2 ecu & get a conversion harness & a chipped ecu

 

thats obivous but the point I was tryin to make was that thats the only reason why VTEC wount engage on my car......
