polishing a valve cover

Default polishing a valve cover

hey not sure if this is in the right forum or not but i was wondering how to polish a valve cover or something like it. iwanna try it on my valve cover after some practice on cheap shit so if you can help me let me know

i polished mine. get airscraft stripper and use that with a toothbrush to get all the black gunk off. then just use wetordry 600,1000,1500 sandpaper. then sand the hell out of the valve cover. then use some metal polish after sanding. it helps if you have a electric sander as well.

well thats done with heat i believe and i think you need a hell of a lot of it too

take it to a machine shop and have them sandblast it for $15. comes out nice....

i got the aircraft remover and just sprayed it on and let it sit for about 5 mins, and then sprayed off the cover with a hose. dried if off good, sanded it a little, and sprayed it with red paint, kinda a ghetto type ARR style, but it definetly looks better than it did.
