Default Wierd Idle

Car is 93 del Sol with d15b7

For the last couple of months my car had idled really weird but now its very bad....it started off like this......

When starting up the car in the cold, it would usually rev up to about 1500
then after a min or two, it would drop down to 950 then troughout the day as long as motor was warm eveything idled fine....

Recently the car started to idle up to 1500 like normal but then it would drop to almot 0 then goess back up to 1500, it would do this for 5-10 mins and then would operate normally.

Now it does this all the time, no matter if the engine is hot or cold, it will rev up to 1500 then back down to 0, even after I have driven over 100 miles....please help

I tok off the IACV and cleaned it but still idles the same...when I take off the intake pipe, there is a loud sucking noise and when I put my finger over the hole close to the bottom of the TB it idles fine....does that mean my TPS is gone bad or is this some other part gone bad?

does this help?
If you pull off the intake pipe and look into the TB on the left inside the pleum there is 2 holes, 1 at the top and 1 at the bottom, if I cover the one on the bottom the idle returns to normal if I cover the top one the car dies....

The same thing happened to my del sol si when i had it.....look right underneath the throttle body and you will find a regulator with a valve in it that is probably broken. It isabout the size of a deck of cards and held on by 3 10mm bolts and has a small hose connected to it.........i went and got one off of another sohc motor at a junkyard for $5...........lemme know if you have any questions

i had the same problem in my teg, u dont need new valve, just take the old one out and screw the plastic bolt all the way in, that will cure it.

It's a common problem with aging Hondas. The FITV contains a wax pellet that gets lazy over time. You can simply bypass it with a blocking plate or replace it.

sameproblem here still.
also, when u are going and u barely havelike 10% throttle and it doesn't smoothly throttle up it just kicks in and when u r starting out in and gear under 1500 and when u hit it with like 20% or less throttle does your rpm jerk just at 1500?
