Unhappy someone help

my cars fine now, but heres what happened....

today i was leaving my house and i had the car in reverse....my foot accidently slipped off the clutch while i was reving up to move backward and i guess you could say i accidently did a reverse burnout...well the car immediately stalled and i went to continue on my way....i noticed it was hard to get in gear and when i tried to pull out, the car like chugged and stalled...then i tried to go forward, and the car chugged and stalled. i got out and went in the garage for some tools and i came back out and decided to try to move it again...it was very rough to shift through the gears while sitting still in the driveway....i then attempted to move forward again and the car slammed forward the same way it did when it was in reverse when my foot slipped off the clutch pedal...well the car runs fine now except 3rd grinds a lil bit...but it did it before so im not to worried about it...i guess what im asking is, what happend and did i do any serious damage to the tranny? thanks for any input

John

You should be fine...

I highly recommend you try some Friction Modified GM syncromesh to resolve grinding/stiff shifting issues.

Make sure you stop letting your feet slip off ur clutch

yea syncromesh would be good but this tranny he has is only a couple months old. It was just rebuilt and it grinds already, I think this is his second tranny from brooksville transmission.

Who ever rebuilt it probably didnt check everything out by the specs in the manual i.e. using a feeler guage etc.
They probably just visually rebuilt the tranny
