tranny identification
ok i asked this a while ago but it was never answered. anyone?
I have a 1.5 tranny on my car currently.
it says s20 on the serial bar.
I bought a 1.6 tranny from a reputable guy, but it too has a s20 code.
these are for an EG btw
how can you tell the difference??
ok, if you're looking into the car at the tranny from the front, there are 2 barcodes.
the first is to the left near pasanger side and it says s20. the second is near the engine itself and it says jb8 p20
i couldn't find the number that's engraved into the tranny.
on my 2nd tranny it only has 1 barcode near the block and it says s20 on the barcode part, but "p20" is engraved in it farther back.
so wich of these is a 1.6?

i think you cant tell untill you drive it just like the ef cable si/dx/hf all say L3
