ok...i made the mistake of taking my car to some crap exhaust shop last year to have my exhaust put on...so they welded the exhaust,cat, and a flexpipe to the exhaust manifold....now im having troulbes with teh cat overheating, also the fucker scrapes the ground...hangs too low anyway.....so i have decided to start all over again...here is the question:
i want to put a 95 gsr stock exh mani on the car and have a flange made with a cherry bomb for a resonator, and eventually finish it off later....has anyone done this before and what was your experience with throttle response (if any change) and noise...i dont think this will net any power increase, maybe topend due to not being a full exhaust pipe....i know it will be loud, but will it be reasonable....thanks....motor is 91 b18a....

 

go back to the shop and bitch...they might fall for it...the only thing to stop the scrape is maybe a custom down pipe that doesnt hang so low....if u have enough room...for noise...try putting stock muffler towards the front of the car...it will decrease the power but also the noise...then just put your reg. exaust back on...sounds like u got a problem though...

 

yeah, it actually popped off a week after i had it installed,scared the shit out of some lady on 275, quite funny actually...but im not goin back to that place...ive had too many problems with that guy...it was a favor for a favor thing and i got raped, so oh well...
btw, does anyone have any good info on n/a exhaust ?...the b18a em merges into one before the bottom section...the gsr merges to 2 at the center and to one at the collector...will this be any sort of benefit to me? its stock for stock but maybe ill luck out, any input? thanks

 

when i got my wxhaust done i got a warrenty. i backed up into a curb and my exhaust hanger broke. i took it back and they welded it free of charge

 

i did this under the table with no receipt...it was a product for a service type of deal...i fulfilled my end of the bargain and he just jammed it right on in.....not even a kiss afterwards or anything....btw...the shop was big joes auto air and muffler on nebraska and hillsborough....should have known just by the name....
