Default Motor wont start...no clue.

just swapped another head onto car but used all the parts from the old head ( distr. , all sensors)

Motor cranks over but just pops and sputters likes its trying to start but cant.

Its getting fuel and spark

Even swapped in a different battery and still the same.

only thing i can think of that could be causing this is i got bran new valves and i didnt have them machined to match the head.

Could that cause the motor to not start, maybe lack of compression?
checked the timing 3 times, its perfect, valve adjustment is also perfect.

im cluesless at this point and about to give up and take it to a shop.

please help.
thanks

Firing order? Cam/crank timing? Did you buy the correct valves for the setup? Did you clay the pistons?

checked firing order, crank and cams all at TDC. Installed b16 black nitride coated stainless valves . did not clay pistons, didnt find any reason to.

does anyone think it could possibly be that the fuel filter lines are connected backwards? i just changed my filter and wasnt exactly sure which side connects to which. i had the jdm fuel filter and the arrows on the diagram are reversed

hey hey i no what it is : o) Ss valves are .04-.09mm long you have to adjust every valve thay are all staying open thats the poping you here it fire and combust I made the same mistake with my built heads if you dont believe just use a compression test you will get none on any Cyc :o)

the valves have tappered seats-----> \ /
i did the valve adjustment with the old valves last month but didnt adjust them with the new valves cause i figured the new valves would be oem lenth.

still say adjust the valves and it should work?

oh and when i try to start it.....it sounds like its cranking over slower than usuall, could that be because theres no compression?

did you hand lap the new valves in? if they were not lapped they aren't sealing. IMO
