Default Spark Plugs on Boosted Motors...

When I threw the blurbo on my h22 I was told to go with some NGK BKR7E-11'S (PART# 1283) The car would pull hard, but it was no where near as hard as it pulled in Adam's EG.

Well after reading a few posts on Honda-Tech.com about spark plugs and boost. I realized that with what I'm running i'm better off with two stages colder (I went with PART# 3330) and that I should be gapped .28-.30 (the -11 from my old spark plugs stood for the size of the gap, .40 which is WAY too large).

After replacing the BKR7E-11's with my new plugs, it's like night and day! The car pulls 10x's harder. Just though I'd share this information with others as they may have the same issue I had..

I have been running those plugs for a long time with no problems. I'm now changing to power 8's because of more boost and race gas. What plugs are you using now?

i hope u didnt have the bkr7e-11's gapped to .040 because that would obviously cause a problem. now u said u went with 2 steps colder which would be a 9 which is way too cold for your car and will probably make ur car run like shit, mainly out of boost. the coldest u should probably use on a street car would be 8's IMO but the gapping is dependent on your ignition setup up and how much boost/power youre trying to push.

I would gap 7's to 28-30 and 8's at 24-26. The 8's i just picked up from guy at AE were already gapped properly. The 7's that you are running are gapped at 40 and need to be regapped to work properly.
