Exclamation what engine for the crx?

i recently bought a 89 honda crx dx for $900, its got a 90 motor in it but its still the 1.6 15 valve p.o.s. so before even starting to modify the car performance wise i want something solid to build on. Im wondering which engine to use????? i was thinking a b18 v-tec, but my neighbor has a 89 prelude with a b20 in it, i was also really considering a h22 swap, the b18 would probably the best performance per dollar swap but everyone does this, a h22 or even a j-spec h23 would kick ass and be somewhat different, and with the b20 iv heard good and bad things about them, but iv also heard the b20 is a very nice engine to steal party from for a b18, i dont know what to get but im on a quest to beat my friends 91 crx that pulls low 13's neone got ne ideas?

yea i was thinking about a 1.6 but i decided its not big enough, a bigger engine has more potential rite off the bat because of more cubic inches, im leaning more and more towards the h22 its sounds like a swap not alot of people do, has neone done this swap that can give me some help? ---David---

I have an H23 in my Crx. I prefer the D16A6.

putting an h22 into a CRX would be a royal pain in the ass. you would have to do some cutting and welding to get it in there. a friend of mine did it the right way and it took him along time. due to the wieght of the engine, he moved the firewall back a few inches to move the motor back and put extra wieght in the rear to balance out.

im not sure if it was 'primer crx' or not, but i saw a crx with a d16 sohc v-tec(130hp) with a 100 shot and slicks (at track day) run a mid 12 second pass.

K20 hasnt been said yet. That would be even harder than the H22. but it would be gangster as hell. Seriously I would do a GSR.
