LS/VTEC, thats whats wrong with it. lol! firing order sounds like one problem or maybe cause you are using a SOHC VTEC dizzy. I didnt think SOHC and DOHC parts were interchangable. I have no idea about the oil leaking out the head gasket. could the gasket go on upside down with the dowel pins in??

did you seal vtec oil feed hole in the head. Even if you did have a plug threaded in it needs to be sealed really well. I use JB weld on the threads, Honda bond and locktite has also worked for me in the past.

the oil problem whas that the pins that hold the 3 layers of head gasket were still on the head gasket which caused it not to seal properly,so i just went out and bought another gasket and took the pins out so the head seats better, and the chassis that the motor is in is a 91 dx but is converted into a si,i had a stock LS motor in it before and it ran perfect, but then i just decided to go ls vtec and now its giving me this shit spark problem.the thing is i tried my stock LS dizzy and that also didnt work and then we pulled a dizzy of my friend civic with a b16 in it(he's runnin a SOHC dizzy and it runs like a champ,i mean no problem at all), i know for a fact that there is no wiring problem, its gotta be the distributer or some other shit, i'm gonna keep working on this till i figure this out and i will post the result, thanks for all the help.
