Now my friend has a 2g integra and wants to make it faster. What is the easier/cheaper method; swap the engine or slap a turbo on his engine? He doesn't have the GSR if that matters. If he swaps a different engine, what engine should he go for and how much should everything run? And if he goes turbo (my choice) how much boost can this engine handle? Will a T3/T04E work well on this engine? Just looking for options for him. He would be happy in the 14s I'm sure, but 13s would probably be his ultimate goal.

 

So how much power can that engine with 8lbs on a T3/T04E 60 trim on it push? And how much does it cost to get his engine fully built to handle some real boost? Thanks alot.

 

So he can safely push 10psi with no internal work done? $2000-3000 at one time is probably too much for him right now. Is there another engine that can handle boost better w/o being built? Oh and 240whp is good enough for 13s in that car right?


I'm going to push for him to go with a turbo setup pushing 8-10psi. I think I can get him a turbo setup for around $1000 minus the fmic and fuel issues. Will he need bigger injectors, or just a pump? And is hondata necessary for this setup? And are there any fmic setups available or does it all have to be custom?

 

Gotcha. I was just reading hondaswaps.com and it seems uberdata and hondata are both software used to tune the stock ECU or something? Is that right? Also, what engine does he have stock, B18(a/b/c?)? I had always thought it was a B17 1.7L but never paid much attention. And whats the best cheap turbo that mates to this engine well?


Oh and how much does SS charge to tune uberdata? They are good right?
