Alright, I sold my car to a guy, and he calls me today and says that it won't start. So I go to help him assess the problem. First thing I think of is that the Main relay is bad, So I brought the other one out of my car pluged it in, and still nothing. Meanwhile its giving me a CEL, but WILL NOT display any error codes. If i press on the main relay to engage it manualy, The CEL light blinks really fast, the relay fights me, and the ECU light blinks with the CEL light. So since I can't read the codes, and I can't hear the fuel pump turn on, We try to hardwire the fuel pump, Do it and the fuel pump turns on, Keep it hardwired, and try to start the car, Fuel injectors aren't firing. Does anybody have some insight?

 

oh by the way, used some starting fluid, and it starts right up and dies. So its getting spark.

i had similar problem (relay buzzing and CEL flashing) that was caused by the ground wire at the thermostat housing being loose.

 

Hmm, I have to double check all the grounds, I did a once over on them, But didn't really check them.

 

wow that sounds weird. trying not to point out the obvious but it seems like its gotta be something with the ecu maybe it jus took a shit on him never know i havent seen it happen but then againn i havent seen alot of things. good luck

 

I don't know, Im guessing it has to be the ECU, or mabye a ground. Someone also said that the Alternator fuse, could do this? The main relay from my car works in my car, and the main relay in the car I sold him worked before I sold it to him, and it doesn't do shit with either.
