vtec vs. non vtec dizzy

vtec vs. non vtec dizzy
ok I know all bseries dizzy's can be bolted to all b series heads but do you have to make sure that the dizzy is vtec for it to work on a vtec head. I have a vtec b16 and am getting a dizzy from a b18 but don't know if its vtec or not. thanks

it wont fit in its stock form. if you use a non vtec dizzy on a vtec head you would need to grind one "leg" off. without grinding it the "leg" would hit the vtec solenoid. you also have to make the slot for the top bolt longer, alot longer. its not that hard....

the dizzy I'm looking at is from an ls, I'm not too familiar with the ls, so is the oem ls b18 always a vtec engine

is it going into youe crx?if it is use a crx si distributor it works so much better and you can buy them brand new for 170bucks and you dont have to make the holes bigger or anything : o) auto zone has them in stock

yeah its goin in the crx, but I'm upgrading to obd1 and its a b16 vtec engine, the si oem motor is d series and non vtec.

oh heres another ? why couldn't I take the bottom plate ( the one that needs the leg cut off and the hole lengthened ) and swap it with the obdo vtec bottom plate? is the plate permenantly attached to something obd1 specific, or are the holes for the rotor different? just a thought. has anyone tried this?

im just saying you can buy a brand new crx si distibutor and cut of one post from it and the other 2 will bolt up and use it but if your going obd1 then the ecu is different..not to sure what you mean about what you said up top your distibutor is a solid case just buy a 92-95 integra Gsr distributor

I'm trin to get ahold of a vtec b series obd1 dizzy but it's hard to to find one used for a good price. budgets suck
