Default H22 Questions

1. Will a Euro R intake manifold fit the a H22 in a Civic?
2. My tranny grinds 5th and won't let me downshift into 2nd sometimes, could it be the shifter cables or tranny?
3. Should I leave the variable intake disconnected?
4. What should the compression be in each cylinder?

Ditch the Euro R I/M, get a skunk2.....

Sounds like the syncros in the tranny

Variable Intake?????

ass long as your compression isn't abnormally low, and as long as it's pretty even across all cylinders, you're fine.

As far as I know the Skunk2 IM for the H22 hasnt been officially released yet even though there are groupbuys and websites have been advertising it for quite some time.

Might wanna call Skunk2 to confirm before you place an order for one and the seller tells you its on backorder....

The Euro R is a great manifold, but it requires a good deal of modification to make it work. It is not a straight bolt-on for the H22. It fits inside of the prelude, accord and 92-95 chassis. I have heard that in order to get this manifold to work in an EK chassis you need to re-work a lot of the items located on your firewall. The stock h22 manifold has a slight curve to it and places the throttle body closer to the front where as the euro r is straight and the manifold/throttle body hit items on the firewall.

Your transmission could be the cables.. did you install the motor and then install the cables/shifter? Does it only do this when the motor is cold? How many miles? Could be the syncros ... what mtr fluid are you using?

With the variable intake hooked up how its supposed to be, you will have more torque in the lower RPM's, this has been proven time and time again and backed by dyno charts. I personally have mine set-up to stay open...

The compression on my jdm h22a was 210 across the board. so long as each cylinder is pretty close I wouldn't worry too much..

You synchros are bad. As for the butterflys, leave them open. I thought the euro spec manifold didn't come with butterflies?
