Default WTF: a/c question

ok i got a 92 gsr, needs some freeon.. i look at the a/c lines up front by the radiator and condensor.. there is usually 2 nipples with caps on them and the larger one is the one u shoot the freeon in.. mine only has 1 nipple and my freeon hose is 2x too big for it.. any suggestions?????

well shit.. found out a got fuckin r12 a/c which really sucks cause its so expensive, and a conversion kit is alot of money :-\ or i can do it the ghetto way, clear my lines of all r12 shit, and screw an adapter plug that fits r134a onto it for about 40 bucks

Any car made before 93 should have the old R12 unless it was retrofitted already, just buy the retrofit kit from Advance Auto Parts/Discount, its on sale this month for $30

well not to burst your bubble but its 91 and older models that have r12...and its not hard to convert...get some flush...which is like 9 bucks at AAP...and then get a kit which has the fittings in it and everything needed to convert for 32...jason...ask ben to get it with his discount!...itll only be like 30 bucks man...itll take like 30 min to do

I think they assume that you have the tools to recharge your A/C if you are even considering buying the retrofit kit. There are several different hoses/gagues that you need(2 I think, 1 for high 1 for low) to connect to the lines. The line cleaner probably is a chemical that converts freon into something more environmentally friendly so you can drain it.
