yeah but its the same block casting as an h22 and uses the same FRM sleeves which are not compatable with forged pistons. if those are forged pistons in an FRM block that motor wont last a couple thousand miles at best before it drinks oil like its going out of style and losses some serious compression.

i've been told not to use chromoly rings in the h23 block but i've never been told anything about forged internals

all H series motors, S2K motors and late model NSK motors have fiber reinforcedn metal sleeves aka FRM. its not a matter of debate, its a matter of fact. FRM was used to keep the block size down, while providing structural rigidity to the cylinder sleeves since they were so close together. thus the reason oem overbore pistons can only be purchased in .25 oversized compared to B series that can be had for .50 oversized.

wiseco has developed a forged piston to run in FRM applications by using a coating on the ring lands and piston skirting BUT it doesnt seem to be working

** edit just saw you had wisecos**

read about the problems here with the wiseco's, starts off good but towards the end of the thread it gets ugly. seems they arent lasting.

if you run normal forged pistons without and questionable coating you will end up like this (btw this is an s2k block but comparable)

very very very soon...

sorry bro.
